So far, so good - I’m down 5 pounds so far. I’ve run or walked every morning, usually 2 miles. I noticed a slight reduction in my protruding belly last night. Things are off to a good start.
I really look forward to running on Saturday. I enjoy sleeping later (7AM), running longer (3 miles), and having daylight. Today was a good day. I am beginning to feel stronger and more natural when I run; my body is finding its pace.
My weight loss is coming faster than I expected. I have been more conscious about my diet but it doesn’t seem like I am doing well. I must have been doing worse than I thought before I was paying attention. I am consistently eating oatmeal and wheat toast for breakfast, which is better than McDonald’s drive-thru. I am avoiding buffets for lunch, usually packing a plate of leftovers from home. At dinner, I try to avoid the second serving unless it’s really excellent food.
I am finding motivation from writing this blog and reading other running blogs. I am off to a good start.
Hi Tony,
I found your blog through Joe’s. You’re off to a great start, and I enjoyed reading back through your previous posts. I eat oatmeal every morning, too, even when there are yummier things laying around and it’s made a difference. Keep running and blogging; you’d be surprised how much of a support it is to other runners.
Topher - thanks for the encouragement, I should have mentioned that I cut back to only 2 donuts this week. Of course, tomorrow is Sunday and that is usually bad news for breakfast.
